A villa in the spirit of old Ceylon

Turquoise shutters, a terracotta roof and a lamp-lit pool — between Unawatuna’s beaches and Galle Fort.

Welcome to Sekku House

Sekku House is a two-storey villa on Heenatigala Road in Unawatuna, in the style of the old Ceylon bungalows: timber balconies with turquoise railings, a steep terracotta roof, and white arches opening onto a garden pool.

Inside, it is cool and unhurried — white walls, polished cement floors, antique timber wardrobes and local paintings. Three air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a living room, a fitted kitchen and a long veranda for slow breakfasts and late suppers.
