Is it better to stay inside Galle Fort or in Unawatuna?
Inside the Fort you are among the sights but rooms are often small and the lanes busy. Staying in Unawatuna gives you the beaches, more space and a pool, and Galle Fort is still only about 4 km away by tuk-tuk, taxi or train, so you can easily do both.
How do I get from Sekku House to Galle Fort?
Most guests take a tuk-tuk or taxi along the coast road, which is the quickest option. You can also walk about 500 metres to Unawatuna Railway Station and take the short train ride to Galle, then walk to the Fort from Galle station.
What is there to see near Sekku House?
Close to the house you have Unawatuna and Jungle Beach, Yatagala Temple and the Japanese Peace Pagoda on Rumassala hill. In Galle Fort there are the ramparts, Galle Lighthouse, the Dutch Reformed Church, Galle National Museum and the Dutch Hospital shopping precinct.
